Crafts and Cookies to Welcome Advent

Check out the photo gallery of scenes from the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs' annual Advent Fair and Cookie Walk.

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs (5250 Wolf Road) celebrated the start of Advent with an Advent Fair and Cookie Walk this weekend.  Check out the photo gallery to see scenes from the fun!

PCWS bakers made dozens and dozens of homemade cookies and sweets for the Cookie Walk and our Youth Group coordinated the event.  Donations from the Cookie Walk will support a future Youth Group Mission trip.  Everyone who participated was able to fill bakery boxes with loads of colorful, delicious cookies to enjoy at home.  Yum!

The fun continued at the Advent Fair where children of all ages made ornaments, decorated gingerbread houses, created Nativity banners, fashioned edible Christmas trees and did all sorts of Christmas crafts.  They also enjoyed the PCWS Advent Fair classic…pretzels dipped in frosting.  Some of our kids would tell you that they know the Christmas season is officially here when the pretzels and holiday frosting come out.
