Picnics & Grilling
It’s fun to make or bring a patriotic recipe to your 4th of July picnic or BBQ. Martha Stewart, has 27 red, white & blue recipes on her website, marthastewart.com.
Allrecipes.com has a recipe for Red, White and Blue Strawberry Shortcake.

Local Parades & Fireworks
Hinsdale Parade, kicks off July 4th at 10am
Taste of Oak Brook – July 3rd. No need to pack a picnic, come sample food and enjoy music & children’s activities from 2pm – 9pm. Fireworks Display @ 9:30pm
Naperville Ribfest is going on June 29th – July 3rd – Five, fun-filled days with something for everyone, Ribfest has food, bands, rides & fireworks!
Navy Pier will be celebrating Independence Day on July 4th at 9pm. If you can’t get enough fireworks, they also will be setting them off every Wednesday and Saturday evening through August 29th.
A great resource for Firework Displays this summer throughout Chicagoland can be found on fireworksillinois.com. You can search by date, city and county.
Don’t forget to be safe when handling fireworks or, even better, leave it to the pros. Check out the National Safety Council’s tips for safe handling of fireworks.
