LTHS announces new Student Government Officers

Lyons Township High School is pleased to announce the Student Government Officers for the 2013-2014 school year. Students campaigned for their chosen positions and were elected by their peers. Each officer will serve a one-year term beginning in August.

       Student Council is involved in numerous aspects of student life at LTHS, from holding blood drives to organizing the All-School Assembly. Student Council also plays a large role in two school dances, with record-setting attendance in excess of 3,000 students attending Homecoming and nearly 2,000 students attending KOH. Student Council also organizes a Secret Santa gift drive, as well as a Senior Citizens’ Prom.

       Each grade level elects Class Board officers who plan and assist with various events and fundraisers throughout the year. In addition, any and all students are welcome to join the Class Board for their grade level. The Senior Class Board is responsible for the purchase of a class gift. The Class of 2013 plans to help purchase a stone medallion of the school seal as part of an All Class gift, which will be installed on the face of the North Campus Fieldhouse in honor of the LTHS Alumni Association’s 10-year anniversary and the school’s 125^th anniversary.
