Car Burglaries, Bike Thefts: Western Springs Police

A purse and a laptop computer were among the items stolen in car burglaries, reports say.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The Western Springs Police Department's latest blotter includes reports of car burglaries and bicycle thefts. Here is the information:

  • A driver's side window of a car in the 800 block of 47th Street was smashed open and a purse was taken overnight June 28.
  • A bicycle locked to a fence in the 4400 block of Central Avenue was stolen between 10 p.m. June 25 and the afternoon of June 26 in the 4400 block of Central Avenue.
  • An iron rail leading to the basement door of a house and a solar floodlight over the basement door were damaged on the morning of June 28 in the 4400 block of Western Avenue.
  • A laptop computer was stolen from a car between June 26 and June 29 in the 4400 block of Howard Avenue.
  • An unlocked bicycle was stolen between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. June 29 from a driveway in the 4000 block of Grand Avenue.
