Car Burglary, Money Theft: Western Springs Cops
A local car was broken into in a local neighborhood, with a $250 piece of equipment stolen, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – In recent days, Western Springs handled cases involving a car burglary, theft from an ATM, aggravated fleeing and financial exploitation. Here is information from the latest Western Springs police reports:
Car burglary
- A locked car in the 800 block of Burlington Avenue was burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and noon Aug. 20. A Bluetooth speaker valued at $250 was stolen. The crime was reported Sept. 11.
Theft from ATM

- An unknown amount of money was stolen from an ATM at Community Bank of Western Springs, 1000 Hillgrove Ave. An employee of the ATM company reported the theft Sept. 9.
Aggravated fleeing
- Robert W. McManus, 54, of Brookfield, was arrested about 4 p.m. Sept. 5 on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding an officer, driving with an expired registration, disobeying a stop sign, disobeying a lane control signal and driving without a seatbelt. Police said McManus fled a traffic stop.

- A 44-year-old Hinsdale man was arrested on a warrant about 4 p.m. Sept. 10 while officers were investigating another crime.
Financial exploitation
- Cressida Barthelemy, 58, of Chicago, was arrested Sept. 5 on a charge of financial exploitation of an elderly person. Patch wrote about the case earlier this month when Barthelemy was still at large.
