Families with children who attend the First Congregational Church of Western Springs Preschool gathered to celebrate “Back to School” at the Preschool’s annual kick-off event. The children attending the preschool were invited to bring their whole family to see old friends and make new ones, while enjoying games, moon jumps, sweet treats, and live children’s entertainment.
The children were welcomed by the sounds of Clara D’Onofrio, an early childhood music specialist who helps children learn and discover the magic of music through their own exploration. Children and parents alike, were delighted to learn that “Miss Clara” will be an ongoing part of the preschool curriculum. Following the entertainment, children were invited to jump, play, create and enjoy the other festivities of the day.
The event, which is sponsored by the Preschool Committee, is held every year as a way to welcome the children back to school. Jenny Morgan, Preschool Committee Co-Chair, said, “it was fantastic to see our preschool community - students, teachers, parents and siblings - having fun together. When children see everyone celebrating the start of school together, they quickly realize that learning is fun!"
