Come and Get Your Free Pumpkin
Giveaway is in advance of the Western Springs Fall Festival.
Free pumpkins will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Tower Green in advance of next weekend's Fall Festival.
The idea is for residents to get creative and trick out the fall fruit for the festival's pumpkin decorating contest. Prizes will be awarded and winning pumpkins will be displayed in Western Springs shop windows.
The annual Fall Festival, scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, is hosted by the Western Springs Business Association. featured chili, freshly popped popcorn, hot chocolate, Halloween treats and horse-drawn hayrides around the Tower Green.
