Countryside Solicitor Leaves 'X' Near Home's Back Door: Cops

A window screen next to the front door had been pushed up, partially open, and a small "X" was drawn on a brick.

A woman and her husband who live in Countryside were separately approached by a man July 25 who tried to solicit a job seal coating their driveway, and they later found an X drawn by the back door.

The man entered their backyard around 2 p.m. in the 5600 block of Catherine, Countryside, and asked for a job working on the driveway, according to Countryside police.

The woman declined and the man left in a red pickup truck with white lettering, driven by another man. Around 4 p.m., the same man and truck were back at the house. The man asked the woman’s husband about seal coating the driveway. The husband declined and the man left in the truck.
