DUI, Theft: Western Springs Arrests

Western Springs Police reports for the week of Jan. 20.

The following information is from the Western Springs Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Jan. 14

  • Miguel Vargas-Ochao, 23, of Chicago, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. at Ogden Avenue and I-294 and charged with driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop for not having a valid registration displayed.

  • A 15-year-old female from Countryside was arrested at 7:31 a.m. at LTHS, 4900 Willow Springs Road for battery following a fight at school.
  • A 15-year-old male from La Grange Park was arrested at 3:15 p.m. at Garden Market, 4700 Willow Springs Road, for battery following a fight at school.
  • A 15-year-old male from Brookfield was arrested at 3:15 p.m. at LTHS, 4900 Willow Springs Road, for battery following a fight at school.

Jan. 20

  • A broken window was found at the front of the building in the 4200 block of Lawn Avenue. There were no signs of entry and nothing was reported missing.

  • Pedro Merino, 29, of Chicago, was arrested at 3:40 p.m. at 38th and Woodland Avenue and charged with DUI stemming from an accident that happened in late 2018.

Jan. 22

  • Jose Rodriguez, 35, of Chicago, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. at Garden Market, 4700 Gilbert Ave., and charged with theft after an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle behind the Garden Market.
