Fatal Crash In Western Springs
Man is pronounced dead shortly after the crash just north of Ogden Avenue.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A driver died Monday afternoon after crossing all lanes of traffic and striking a tree just north of Ogden Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead shortly after the single-vehicle rollover crash.
According to a Western Springs news release, a witness said the driver, who was on the northbound Interstate 294 exit ramp, struck a guardrail and continued traveling east on Ogden. The car was seen crossing all lanes before striking the tree 25 feet north of Ogden between Grand and Lawn avenues in the Cook County Forest Preserve, police said.
The crash happened about 3 p.m. The man, who was not identified, was in a 2007 Cadillac CTS.
