Fire At Forest Hills School Considered An Accident
Fire damage on Wednesday was contained to a storage room near the school's boiler room.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL - Preliminary reports are that a fire that broke out early Wednesday morning at Forest Hills Elementary School in Western Springs was an accident. Fire officials were called to the school located at 5020 Central at 6:20 a.m., when they saw what was described as "a smoldering fire" coming from an exterior storage room near the boiler room.
Fire crews from multiple towns responded and used portable fire extinguishers to put out the blaze, which did not cause a delay in the school arrival time for students that day.
Fire damage was limited to the storage room and smoke extension to just the boiler room and small room off the gym, according to the village of Western Springs.
