Gift Basket Stolen, Retail Theft: Western Springs Police Reports

Western Springs Police reports through Sept. 26.

The following items were taken from the Western Springs police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Driving While License Suspended

  • Eric Ruiz, 35, of Bolingbrook, was arrested at 3:04 a.m. Sept. 20 at 55th Street and Woodland Avenue for driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting.

Retail Theft

  • Michael Twist, 28, of Brookfield, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. Sept. 20 at Mariano's, 4700 Gilbert Ave., for retail theft and fleeing/attempting to elude the police.

Theft

  • A large gift basket sitting next to the victim's vehicle was stolen at 2:06 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 4000 block of Grove.
  • A bronze finished lantern was stolen from the side of a residence in the 1000 block of Hickory sometime between Sept. 3 and Sept. 19.
