Happy to Be Me Camp for Girls

Social-emotional learning camp for teens teaches mindfulness, communication skills, healthy-happy habits and brain science, August 3-7

The Robert Crown Center (RCC) for Health Education is registering summer campers for a new camp just for girls, grades 6 and 7: Happy to Be Me! This girls-only social-emotional learning camp will be an active and fun-filled journey, teaching adolescent girls how our brains serve and guide us toward unique interests and choices; how to manage stress and build our happiness quotient through exercise, nutrition and mindfulness; how to communicate positively with oneself and others and to appreciate our differences.

The Happy to Be Me! Camp was developed in response to requests for more girl-centered social-emotional learning opportunities. In February, RCC held its third annual Happy to Be Me! Luncheon for adolescent girls. The guest speaker addressed the importance of self-acceptance, individuality and resiliency. The summer camp will expand on those messages and provide campers with self-actualization tools through fun, interactive games and exercises. Being held in Hinsdale at the Robert Crown Health Center, the camp will take place from August 3-7 from 1-4 pm each day.
