Longtime Western Springs Official Leaves
The Village Board plans to appoint his replacement at its meeting next week.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs' longtime community development director resigned in August.
Martin Scott, who served in the job for 17 years, is now in the same position in Glen Ellyn, according to his LinkedIn page. The population of Western Springs is considerably smaller than Glen Ellyn's.
Before coming to Western Springs, Scott was the community development director in Winfield for two years and assistant village administrator in Mokena for a decade.

On Monday, the Village Board plans to vote on the appointment of Tony Budzikowski as Scott's replacement.
Budzikowski is the community and economic development director in suburban Crest Hill, a position he has held since May.

From 2017 to 2022, he was the director of development services in Oak Brook, according to his LinkedIn page. From 2000 to 2017, he was the director of community and economic development in Lisle.
In the six years before that, Budzikowski was a planner in Naperville and then Carol Stream.
If he is appointed, Budzikowski's first day in Western Springs would be Sept. 30.
