LT to present Legally Blonde musical

February 18, 19 and 21 at the North Campus Reber Center

The Lyons Township High School Theatre Board and Music and Dance departments proudly present Legally Blonde, with Book by Heather Hach and Music and Lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin. The musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture. Faculty member Eugene O’Reilly is the director, faculty member Terry Wethington, is the choreographer, faculty member Justyn Jost is the pit conductor and staff member Emma Gingold is the accompanist and also providing vocal direction. The assistant director is Carlyn Kelly and the stage manager is Marissa Cappizano.

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law. At school, she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner Huntington. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

A fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!
