LTHS student artists win at annual invite
IHSAE's General Exhibition is a "Best of the Best" high school art competition developed to recognize students for their artistic excellence
Six Lyons Township High School art students were selected to exhibit in the recent Annual Invitational High School Art Exhibit. Three of the artists won awards in their categories.
The IHSAE’s General Exhibition is a “Best of the Best” high school art competition developed to recognize students for their artistic excellence. The General Exhibition features some of Illinois’ top visual arts talent. Each year, more than 100 high schools participate from across the Chicagoland area. Schools enter more than 2,500 student works of art into five categories: Drawing, Painting, Photography, Three-Dimensional, Graphic Design and Time Arts. IHSAE judges select 500 individual artworks that best represent these categories to be on display at the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. This year’s exhibit took place on March 6, with the winning 500 student artists competing against each other for over $15,000.00 in awards and scholarships.
