LT's Bigenwald named VFW Teacher of the Year

Lyons Township High School Special Education teacher Jennifer Bigenwald was presented with the Western Springs VFW Post 10778 Teacher of the Year award. Post member Bruce Harkin (right) said, “The post thanks you for your outstanding service in the education of our youth both inside and outside of the classroom.” LTHS Superintendent Dr. Timothy Kilrea noted that Bigenwald is exceptionally efficient and focused on kids. She has an excellent rapport with students and effectively differentiates and keeps students engaged.” Bigenwald was chosen from among the district’s Vita Plena winners. She has a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and a master’s degree in Counseling from Lewis University. She began at LT in 1994. She also is a co-sponsor of cheerleading.
