Man Charged with DUI, Aggravated Speeding
A Florida man was clocked at 84 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone.

A Florida man was arrested June 6 and charged with drunken driving, aggravated speeding, speeding and reckless driving at Harlem and Ogden avenues.
William J. Salinas, age 41 of the 1600 block of N E 34th Street in Pompano Beach, Florida, was pulled over at 3:15 a.m. for driving 84 miles an hour in a 30 miles an hour zone, according to Riverside police.
The officer could hear the car winding up and accelerating from five blocks south of where he was on patrol.

Salinas refused to answer the officer’s question or give his information except that he was coming from “another suburb,” police reported. He told the officer he was driving the speed limit.
The officer smelled alcohol on Salinas’ breath, and he failed all steps of a field sobriety test. He was arrested, processed, booked and released on bond.

“Mr. Salinas was absolutely driving out of control when stopped by a Riverside police officer,” Riverside police chief Thomas Weitzel said in a statement. “Traveling 54 miles over the posted speed limit and at the same time being intoxicated is a formula for disaster. This individual could have caused a serious accident or death and injured others in addition to himself.”
