Prosecutors said that Summit police responded to a call of a car in flames at 2:46 a.m. May 25, where they found the burning Lincoln Town car.

Officers recognized Gasca and the other man from a resident’s home security video, allegedly showing both men torching the car.

According to the charges, Gasca and the other man were driven to car owner’s home by a third person. Gasca allegedly told police that his co-defendant, who did not appear in court with him, poured Heet anti-freeze on some napkins and set the napkins on fire.

Prosecutors said that Gasca admitted to adding more napkins to the fire because the owner of the car called him a “bitch” during a wake.

Bail was set at $75,000, with ten percent to apply. Gasca’s next hearing is on July 6.
