Mother and Son Charged With Stealing Water Filtration System from Home Depot

A mother and son were both charged with retail theft after they stole a water filtration system at Home Depot in Countryside, prosecutors said in court on Wednesday.

Aaron Washington, 20, and his mother, Ebony Washington, 41, went to the Home Depot on June 30. The two grabbed a water filtration systems and then went to customer service to return it, prosecutors said.

The public defender said that Aaron Washington is enrolled in barber college and is engaged. Ebony Washington works at a car dealership.

The judge set bail for both at $20,000.
