New Western Springs Leader Likely To Be Picked Next Month
The new president would replace Alice Gallagher, who died last week.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – The Western Springs Village Board's next meeting is set for April 10, which is when it is likely to appoint a new village president.
On March 21, Village President Alice Gallagher, 63, died unexpectedly. She did not attend the previous night's meeting because she was ill, though she presided over one a week earlier.
Gallagher died almost three years to the day after Trustee William Siffermann died. He was replaced by Scott Lewis.

The new president would serve until the 2025 election. Gallagher was elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021, without any opposition either time.
At the meeting before Gallagher died, the board voted to appoint Trustee James Tyrrell to preside over that session. Tyrrell and Heidi Rudolph are the longest-serving trustees, having been elected in 2017.
