No Growth In Western Springs Caseload
Village compares well to its neighbors, figures show.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs saw no growth in its coronavirus caseload in the last week, according to Cook County Public Health Department figures on Sunday. The number of cases stood at 44. Neighboring Hinsdale also saw no increase.
Western Springs has had no deaths as a result of the coronavirus, according to the county medical examiner's office.

The village's situation is better than nearby suburbs. As of Sunday, Western Springs had 3.3 coronavirus cases per thousand people. That compares to 5.4 in Clarendon Hills, 5.6 in Elmhurst, 5.8 in Darien, 5.9 in La Grange Park, 8.6 in Burr Ridge, 9.1 in DuPage County, 10.3 in Hinsdale, 12.1 in La Grange and 13.5 in suburban Cook County.
As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 132,543, up 4 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 6,308 state residents.
