Police responded around 2:30 a.m. April 19 for a call of a fight at Marlin’s Bar and Grill, 7236 39th St., Lyons.

When officers arrived, one of the alleged combatants, later identified as Cavallone, had already left the scene in a Lexus. Officers found the vehicle and Cavallone in the 3800 block of Powell Street.

Police said they detected an odor of alcohol in the vehicle that Cavallone was slurring his words. Officers also found open beer in the car, along with a small baggie containing a white powder that field tested positive for cocaine.

As police tried to arrest Cavallone, he tried to flee the scene, backing up the Lexus over an officer’s foot, the prosecutor said.

The prosecutor did not know if the officer was taken to the hospital, but said the office was limping.

Judge Felice set bail at $25,000. Cavallone’s next court hearing is May 11 in Bridgeview.
