Parolee Faces 18th Charge for Driving on a Revoked License

Chicago man currently out on parole for retail theft and escape from election monitoring, prosecutors say.

A parolee stopped for speeding in Western Springs is facing a felony charge after it was determined that he had 17 prior arrests for driving on a revoked license, prosecutors said.

Michael Korosa, 42, of Chicago, was charged with felony aggravated driving on a revoked license. He is currently out on parole for a retail theft conviction and escaping electronic monitoring.

Western Springs officers stopped Korosa for speeding near Gilbert Avenue and 39th Street around 1:32 p.m. Feb. 8, reports said.

According to Illinois Department of Corrections records, Korosa has five felony other convictions for retail theft, possession for controlled substance and theft.

His bail was set at $250,000 during a hearing in bond court on Feb. 9. Korosa is due back in court in Bridgeview on Feb. 25.
