Patch Picks: Awesome Pizza Around Town

When Patch offered up a chance to chat about pizza—let’s just say the response was saucy. Here are some of our readers’ top picks:

1. Have a piece of … Pisa Pizza, 5440 S La Grange Road, Countryside. (708) 352-0008. Claudia Royston (Western Springs) likes their “homemade sausage, sauce that's not too sweet and perfect crust.” It doesn’t hurt the wallet either.
2. Small space, big taste.  701 W Hillgrove Avenue, La Grange. (708) 579-9191. Readers Terri Lane, Linda Allen (Western Springs), and Linda Collins (La Grange) recommend this restaurant. Rumor has it, Antonino's special "veggie” pizza is delicious, but even cheese lovers enjoy this pie.
3. South Side slice. Vito & Nick’s, 8433 S Pulaski Road, Chicago, (773) 735-2050. Vito Martino (Western Springs) says if you can’t make it to the restaurant, in Burr Ridge offers this brand in the frozen section. It’s an impressive “frozen za” for $8.99.
4. Local leader. Ledo's, 5525 S La Grange Road, Countryside, IL (708) 354-4500, Maybe it’s their family friendly atmosphere, or their thin crust pies that have moms like Monica Nicola (La Grange Park) recommending “Ledo's, and Ledo's” as a favorite.
5. Special shouts for you to check out. Giuliano’s and York Tavern in Hinsdale, and Fox’s in Oak Lawn have more than a few local fans.
