Political Sign Theft, Porch Piracy: Western Springs Cops
A presidential candidate's campaign sign was stolen in the village, police said.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The Western Springs Police Department released its latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:
- Faustino R. Bautista, 62, of Homer Glen, was cited about 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lawn and Ogden avenues on charges of driving with a revoked license and speeding.
- A campaign sign for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was stolen overnight Oct. 10 in the 4000 block of Grove Avenue. In neighboring Hinsdale, the victims of campaign sign thefts appear to be bipartisan.
- A smart TV valued at $200 was stolen from a front porch on the morning of Oct. 11 in the 4100 block of Wolf Road. The resident's video security system recorded a suspect in a white van park in front of the house and remove the TV.
- A customer's wallet was stolen while the customer was shopping about 2 p.m. Thursday at Mariano's, 4700 Gilbert Ave.
- A tent in Laidlaw Park, 4125 Hampton Ave., was reported damaged Friday.
Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
