Rash Of Car Burglaries In Western Springs: Police
All the targeted cars were unlocked, police reports say.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Six unlocked cars were burglarized in the last few days in Western Springs, police said. Here is information from police reports:
- An unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 5200 block of Lawn Avenue was burglarized early Wednesday morning. Loose change was removed from the center console.
- An unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4700 block of Lawn Avenue was burglarized Wednesday morning. The owner's outdoor camera system recorded a person entering the car at 7 a.m. A tool kit valued at $25 was stolen.
- An unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4000 block of Ellington Avenue was burglarized overnight last Tuesday. The car was rummaged through, but nothing was reported missing.
- An unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4800 block of Lawn Avenue was burglarized overnight last Tuesday. A garage door opener was stolen.
- Two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 1000 block of Longmeadow Lane were burglarized overnight last Tuesday. The cars were rummaged through, but nothing was reported missing.
Other crimes
- Two suspects entered an unlocked trailer without permission while it was parked near 53rd Street and Wolf Road. Power tools valued at more than $2,000 were stolen. The report was filed Wednesday.
- Two suspects removed plywood from an unsecured construction site in the 5900 block of Timber Trails Boulevard. The report was filed Thursday.
