Renowned trumpet player to perform with LT Jazz Ensemble
February 24 at 7:30pm in the South Campus Performing Arts Center
They Lyons Township High School Jazz Ensemble will perform with guest jazz trumpet player Marquis Hill Wednesday, February 24 at 7:30pm, South Campus Performing Arts Center, 4900 S. Willow Springs Rd., Western Springs. Admission is free and open to the public.
Marquis Hill was the winner of the International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition and the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition, widely considered the most prestigious jazz competition in the industry.
He will spend the day working with LT students, while rehearsing with him for the concert that evening. The program will include one of his original compositions Inner City Blues, from his album “Sounds of the City,” in addition to other jazz standards.
