Saint John of the Cross Parish School Students Give Back

Our students take part in many community service opportunities throughout the school year.

Each of our grade levels exemplify faith in action by completing many service projects. Just a few ways our students give back to our community and surrounding communities include: second graders donating baby items in conjunction with their “Breakfast with Baby Jesus” prayer service, each grade level takes turns preparing meals for the Port Ministries in Chicago twice a month, our student council hosts out of uniform days each month benefitting many not for profit organizations chosen by the student council, and our sixth graders most recently visited, Feed My Starving Children. At Feed My Starving Children, our students prepared and packaged food for malnourished children. Not only do our students participate in service projects, but our faculty and staff spent a day at Our Lady of the Angels Mission helping to clean the mission and the convent.
