New leadership in the State Capitol is ushering in a new era of governing and a fresh approach to addressing current challenges and future opportunities awaiting Illinois, accordin to Senator Chris Nybo.
Senator Nybo played a key role in Inaugural proceedings by speaking on behalf of Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno of Lemont during the formal nomination process for selecting Senate leaders.

“It is my honor to second the nomination of Senator Radogno as Senate leader,” Senator Nybo said. “You’d be hard pressed to find anyone in the Senate more committed to cooperation and collaboration than Senator Radogno. She embodies the very best qualities of a leader. She listens instead of lectures, she searches for consensus rather than confrontation, and she puts results over rhetoric.”
Senator Nybo says a new Administration means a new approach to state government in Illinois.

“The people of Illinois clearly want bipartisan government and bipartisan solutions – not bad public policy rammed through by partisan leaders behind closed doors during late-night sessions,” Senator Nybo said. “Instead of rushing to push legislation that hurts the taxpayers and Illinois’ job climate, the General Assembly should work with Governor Bruce Rauner to find a more responsible approach and long-overdue reforms to a system that clearly is not working.”
Beyond the budget, Senator Nybo’s priorities this year include fully funding the state’s foundation formula for education, passing meaningful workers’ compensation reform, and ending overly-burdensome regulations on job creators.
