Sirens to Sound Twice Tuesday During Regular Monthly Test

The second siren cycle will test the back up capabilities of the Pleasantview Fire Protection District.

Western Springs residents should expect to hear the tornado sirens twice at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 during the regularly scheduled monthly siren test.

The first three minute siren cycle will be activated by Western Springs police dispatchers, and the second cycle will test the back up capabilities of the Pleasantview Fire Protection District, according to the village.

The village has been working with the Pleasantview district on a back-up system to activate the Western Springs sirens in case of emergency.
