Suspicious Man Approaches Children: Western Springs Cops

There was no actual or attempted physical contact made with the children, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Three children were approahced by a man in a suspicious vehicle on Saturday, Nov. 24 in Western Springs. Police said the incident occurred at 3:45 p.m. Saturday and involved an older, white male with a bushy beard and white hair protruding from under a winter hat. The man approached three children on the 4300 block of Lawn Avenue.

According to police, the man held an envelope in his hand and said to the children, "I have something for you, come here." He was driving an older model, champagne colored sedan with a black top and unknown registration. He left the area northbound on Lawn Avenue.

Police said there was no actual or attempted physical contact made with the children. Responding units were unable to locate the suspicious vehicle. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.
