Ten Students Hospitalized in School Bus Collision at Brookfield Zoo

Ten students were sent to hospitals Tuesday after an incident involving two school buses around 1:13 p.m. in the main parking lot of the Brookfield Zoo.

Brookfield Zoo’s on-site ambulance and local municipalities provided assistance after the crash at 31st Street and 1st Avenue, according to a statement from the zoo.

The school or schools involved have not been identified.

Brookfield Fire Department and Loyola University Medical Center coordinated the transportation of the students to medical facilities.

The area has been cleared and the North Gate parking lot is accessible.
