It's a Pittie Rescue (IPR) is a foster-based, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in May 2011. It takes in abused, neglected, and unwanted bully breeds of all ages. Its mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home pit bulls and pit bull-type dogs, while also educating the public about this most misunderstood canine. The dogs are placed into loving
foster homes until they are adopted into their forever homes. IPR is a volunteer-based, no-kill rescue that relies on the generous donations from the public to fulfill their mission.

Julie Beitz, a Western Springs resident, began volunteering with It’s a Pittie Rescue after adopting her pit bull Kringle in 2011 from IPR. She has been active in the organization processing applications, running events, and heading the fundraising committee. She is the event coordinator for the upcoming fundraiser.
