Theatre Of Western Springs Presents 'The Book Of Liz'
The Theatre of Western Springs will present the first Forum play in its 90th season, "The Book of Liz."
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — The Theatre of Western Springs will present the first Forum play in its 90th season, “The Book of Liz,” by David Sedaris and Amy Sedaris and directed by David Knezz. The play will run from Sept. 27 – Oct. 7 at the Theatre of Western Springs, 4384 Hampton Ave.
Shows will be: 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 27, 28, 29, Oct. 4, 5 and 6; 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 30, Oct. 7; 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6; and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
The theatre said “The Book of Liz” is about a small community of Quaker-like Christians known as the Squeamish who are simple folk who do without the conveniences of the modern day; instead, they spend their time praising God and making cheeseballs.

“I find the script really wacky and crazy, infused with humanness and with David Sedaris' knack for truisms,” Director Knezz said in a release. “The play encompasses many human conditions which are put under a microscope for us to view. Poking a hole in Americana with quick, witty dialogue makes for a new genre of comedy. Also, the cast is fantastic and gets to play multiple wacky roles.”
