Unlocked Garages Targeted: Western Springs Cops

All the incidents occurred in one block in the village, report says.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Three garages and a car were burglarized overnight Sunday in Western Springs, police said Monday. The incidents occurred between 11 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday in the 5100 block of Lawn Avenue.

In all three reported garage burglaries, the suspects entered through unlocked service doors, police said in a news release. Welding equipment, tools and a bicycle were stolen, police said. Several items were recovered in the immediate area.

Access was gained through unlocked doors in the car burglary, and a wallet was reported missing, police said.

Police advised residents to lock their car and garage doors.
