Vehicle Theft, Burglary: Western Springs Blotter
All of the vehicles targeted were unlocked.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A rash of vehicle burglaries and thefts were among the crimes listed on the Western Police Department's weekly blotter, released on Monday. Here is information from the department:
- A resident in the 4000 block of Clausen Avenue reported the theft of a propane tank from a grill shortly after 3 p.m. Nov. 24.
- A person tried to make several fraudulent purchases with stolen checks in the 1500 block of Walker Street. The offenses were reported shortly after noon Nov. 25.
- A burglary of an unlocked vehicle in the 5000 block of Caroline Avenue was reported at 6 a.m. Nov. 26. A driver's license, two credit cards and cash were stolen from a wallet.
- A burglary of an unlocked vehicle in the 5100 block of Caroline Avenue was reported at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 26. A driver's license was stolen from a wallet.
- An unlocked vehicle in the 5000 block of Lawn Avenue was reported stolen shortly before 8 a.m. Nov. 26. The vehicle was later recovered that afternoon in Riverdale.
- An unlocked vehicle in the 5100 block of Harvey Avenue was reported stolen at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 26.
- A resident in the 4600 block of Johnson Avenue reported the theft of a reflective driveway marker at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 29.
- A resident in the 4200 block of Clausen Avenue reported the theft of a holiday wreath from the front of the house shortly before 3 p.m. Nov. 30.
