Visiting sculptor works alongside student artists
Chicago-based artist and educator Sean Clute, class of 2006, returns to LT to share his experiences with student artists

Lyons Township High School 2006 graduate and Chicago-based artist and educator Sean Clute recently worked alongside student artists for a two-day event featuring ceramic demonstrations, workshops and presentations. Clute is currently an instructor of ceramics and clay at Harold Washington College. Clute was excited about returning to his alma mater to share his experiences and journey and to inspire LT students. According to Clute, “As we engage the world around us, there are moments that will test our character. I look to capture that honest response where our true personality comes to surface.” He added, “As I build these figures, I use subtle indifferences to the pose, the face and the clothes to reinforce an expression or to push the demeanor in a unique direction.”
