Western Springs Election 2018: Referenda Questions On The Ballot
In addition to several local and state races, voters will also see several referenda questions on the ballot.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — In addition to the governor's race, Senate and House races, Western Springs voters will also see several referenda questions on the ballot. Voters can head out to vote in the election on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Polling places in Illinois are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
If you are a Lyons Township voter, you'll see a referendum question regarding climate control.
"Shall our elected officials support measures that will acknowledge the serious threat posed by climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a clear, transparent, and effective way?"
There are several polling places in Western Springs and early voting is available until Nov. 5.
Cook County voters will be asked several referenda questions on that ballot. Residents will answer questions on minimum wage and earned sick time.

"Shall the minimum wage in your municipality match the $13 per hour Cook County minimum wage law for adults over the age of 18 by July 1, 2020, and be indexed to the consumer price index after that?" "Shall your municipality match the Cook County earned sick time law which allows for workers to earn up to 40 hours (5 days) of sick time a year to take care of their own health or a family member's health?"
Lastly, Cook County voters will also state their opinions regarding firearms in Illinois.
"Should the State of Illinois strengthen penalties for the illegal trafficking of firearms and require all gun dealers to be certified by the State?"
