Western Springs Family Optimistic of Finding Tyler Allen

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs will host a community prayer gathering at 8 p.m. April 23.

Boulder police and Tyler Allen’s family have been searching this week for the missing 20-year-old Colorado University student, but no clues have been uncovered.

Tyler, a Western Springs native, was last seen April 11, according to Boulder police. His parents reported him missing April 18.

A volunteer search party met the morning of April 23 at the base of the Chautauqua trail, but hikers didn’t find any sign of Tyler on the trails they knew he frequented, according to the Find Tyler page on Facebook.

Sheryl Allen, Tyler’s mother, told the Chicago Tribune it was a relief that they didn’t find anything, and she is confident they’re getting closer.

Boulder police, with the Front Range Rescue Dogs organization, searched Chautauqua Park and Mt. Sanitas from 4:30 to 8 p.m. April 21, but the search dogs didn’t sniff out any clues. Police said there were no signs he had been in those places.

Detectives have searched Tyler’s Boulder residence and interviewed his roommates, but they didn’t find anything suspicious. They will continue to investigate tips from the public.

A prayer vigil was held April 22 at Ridgewood Park in Western Springs.

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs will host a community prayer gathering at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in the sanctuary of the church, located at 5250 Wolf Road, Western Springs.

The sanctuary is also open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday for people to stop by for personal prayer.
