Western Springs Gets Interim Police Chief

He replaces Brian Budds, who left for another suburban police department.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs trustees on Monday appointed Terry Mee as the interim police chief.

He replaces Brian Budds, who became Buffalo Grove's new police chief Monday.

Mee has more than four decades of police experience, having most recently served as interim chief in Oak Brook.

Before retiring from East Dundee, where Mee served 11 years as police chief, he spent most of his career in Wheaton, according to a Western Springs news release. He moved up the chain of command in Wheaton to deputy chief.

Mee holds a bachelor's degree in law enforcement administration from Western Illinois University and a master's degree in human resource management and development from National Louis University.

Mee also served in the U.S. Army.

The village expects to hire a permanent police chief early next year.
