Western Springs Issues Outdoor Watering Ban

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A watering ban is currently in effect until further notice for all outdoor use in Western Springs. The ban includes sprinkling and water irrigation, pools, car washing or any other use which may consume significant volumes of water.

According to a release, the village is conducting maintenance on one of its deep wells, which had a power failure in April. The village is attempting to manage the use of its shallow well through the week to decrease iron and hardness in the distribution system.

According to a release, residents who have planted sod , seed or plantings, may water on even/odd days corresponding to their address. Irrigation is restricted to new sod only.
