Western Springs Launches Sidewalk Replacement Program
Affected residents may need to park in the street for about a week until concrete is fully cured.

Removal and replacement of sidewalk squares in Western Springs begins Tuesday and will continue for about 10 days, according to the Village of Western Springs.
Contractor Globe Construction will replace sidewalk squares that have a trip hazard of 1 1/4" or more. Cracked sidewalks that do not meet the trip hazard requirement can be replaced with the resident paying 60 percent of the village's contractor's price, according to the village.
Residents may be out of their driveways for a few hours during the removal process, but all sidewalk squares in driveways will be back filled with stone overnight. Once concrete is poured, residents may need to park in the street for about a week until the concrete through the driveway is fully cured, according to the village.
