Western Springs Man Punched Elderly Relative: Cops
A 42-year-old Western Springs man was arrested for felony aggravated battery and domestic battery by Western Springs Police on April 10.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL - A 42-year-old Western Springs man was arrested for felony aggravated battery and domestic battery at 10:54 a.m. on April 10.
John Petzold Jr., of the 4900 block of Woodland Avenue, was arrested after punching an elderly male family member in the face multiple times.
Police said that Petzold caused bodily harm to the victim, but the victim declined any medical attention.

During the course of the investigation, detectives also learned that Petzold had also committed acts of harassment by electronic communication in another municipality on April 10, and he was then charged with a misdemeanor offense.
Petzold has also violated court conditions of a bail bond that had been issued from a previous arrest in October 2016.

Judge Donald Havis of the Cook County 5th District Circuit Court has set bond at $25,000 for the aggravated battery and domestic battery charges. Petzold will appear in court again on April 13.
Members of the public are reminded that a complaint contains only charges and is not proof of the defendant’s guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
