Western Springs Man Set Fire To Car: Police

The victim knew and recognized the man, who is accused of arson and other crimes, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – A Western Springs man was arrested earlier this week after he set fire to a car in Hinsdale, police said.

Kenneth J. Allen, 41, of the 5300 block of Woodland Avenue, was charged with arson, DUI, criminal damage to property and parking in the roadway.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of 58th Place in Hinsdale, police said.

According to police, Allen was seen fleeing the area of a reported burglary in which a vehicle was set on fire. Police said the victim knew and recognized Allen.

Allen submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit, police said.

Allen was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
