Western Springs Official Gets Raise

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – The Western Springs Village Board voted unanimously Monday to give Village Manager Ellen Baer a 3 percent raise.

Her pay will rise to $169,950, retroactive to Sept. 27.

When Baer was hired in September 2021, she was given a four-year contract with a base salary of $165,000. She succeeded Ingrid Velkme.

Before becoming manager, Baer was the director of administrative services for four years.

Baer was assistant village manager in Lombard from 2000 to 2003 and in Orland Park from 2003 to 2016. She was the interim village manager in Orland Park for nine months in 2007 and 2008.
