Western Springs Police Reports: Bike Theft, Defacement, Public Urination
Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through July 20.

Someone reportedly stole an unattended men’s bicycle that was locked to a public bike rack on July 14 sometime between 2 and 4 p.m. in the 900 block of Burlington Avenue, according to Western Springs police. The stolen bicycle was valued at $500.
An unknown person intentionally defaced a public sidewalk and a parking sign with green spray paint sometime between 11 p.m. on July 17 and 8 p.m. July 18 in the 4800 block of Central Avenue, according to Western Springs police.

Trina L. Bishop, age 22 of the 3900 block of Delaware Street, Gary, Indiana, was arrested July 15 and issued a local ordinance citation after she was discovered urinating behind a private residence in the 1100 block of Ogden Avenue.
Joseph D. Hermenet, age 25 of the 7800 block of West State Road, Middleville, Michigan, was stopped for operating a vehicle without any functioning taillights, according to Western Springs police. Upon speaking with Hermenet, the arresting officer noticed a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath along with glassy and bloodshot eyes. He was offered a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.
