Western Springs Police Reports: Car Burglary, Theft, Financial Exploitation

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through Aug. 24.

Someone reportedly stole an unattended purse Aug. 20 from a shopping cart in the parking lot of Mariano’s on Gilbert Avenue, according to Western Springs police. The purse contained $330 cash, credit cards and identification.

Someone reportedly broke the rear window of a car Aug. 21 that was parked in a driveway in the 1300 block of Reid Street, according to Western Springs police.

Someone reportedly entered an unlocked car Aug. 22 that was parked in a driveway in the 800 block of 47th Street, according to Western Springs police. A wallet containing $100 cash and credit cards was taken. The wallet and credit cards were later found in the 4700 block of Wolf Road.

Two teenagers from La Grange were arrested and issued local ordinance citations Aug. 19 after Gilbert Avenue Mariano’s store employees saw them trying to leave the store without paying for food. One teen was a 15-year-old boy and the other was a 14-year-old girl. The food they tried to take had a retail value of $7.03.

Tianna K. Campbell, age 26 of the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Aug. 20 at the Western Springs police station, according to Western Springs police. A follow-up investigation confirmed her involvement in committing financial exploitation against a disabled person she was serving as a caregiver for. Campbell committed these alleged crimes over a period of about two years. Police were originally notified on Aug. 8.

Ana K. Solis-Amador, age 20 of the 400 block of West Terrace Street, Villa Park, was arrested Aug. 21 after she was stopped for driving a car with a suspended registration. She was found to have a bag of cannabis and prescription pills, according to Western Springs police. She was issued a local ordinance citation for the possession of cannabis and misdemeanor charges for the other offenses.
