Western Springs Sees 3 More Coronavirus Cases
Village's virus situation remains considerably better than most towns.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs saw three more coronavirus cases in the last week, according to Cook County Public Health Department figures on Sunday. The previous week, the increase was six cases. Western Springs has had no deaths as a result of the coronavirus, according to the county medical examiner's office.
The village's situation is considerably better than nearby suburbs. Here is a look at the growth in Western Springs' coronavirus case number:

As of Sunday, Western Springs' number worked out to 3.1 cases per thousand, which compares wells to nearby towns — 4.9 in Elmhurst and Clarendon Hills, 5.2 in Darien, 5.8 in La Grange Park, 8 in Burr Ridge, 8.4 in DuPage County, 10.3 in Hinsdale and 11.4 in La Grange.

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 120,260, up 9 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 5,390 state residents.
Nationally, 1.8 million people have caught the virus and 106,198 have died from it.
