Veteran officer is promoted to sergeant.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Western Springs Police Sgt. Joseph Rourke is retiring from after serving for 29 years, the last 18 as sergeant. During his time, he served in the patrol division and held various titles, including field training coordinator and commercial vehicle enforcement coordinator. His last day was Friday.

Being promoted to sergeant is Dean Harrison, who has been with the department for nearly two decades. He has held a number of jobs, including patrol officer, detective, field training officer and crime prevention officer. His first day is Monday.
